Lot 1477 Astra 600 9mm #14281
Spanish made semi-automatic blowback pistol chambered for 9x19mm, and manufactured 1944 in Eibar, Spain. Germany acquired land borders next to Spain in 1940, and in 1943 took advantage of the opportunity to order 41,500 Astra 600/43 pistols. The Germans wanted the Astra 400 chambered in 9x19mm, and the unfulfilled purchase of these guns were subsequently sold to other countries. Pistol features a satin blued finish, a 5-1/4" barrel, fixed blade front sight, notched slide rear sight, solid smooth curved trigger, smooth grip safety, serrated frame mounted manual safety/slide stop, magazine disconnect, smooth grip straps, serrated heel mounted magazine release, beveled magazine well, lanyard ring on heel, and two-piece checkered hardwood grips. The pistol shows many proof marks and the Astra trademark on top of the slide. The pistol has a flat matte gray/black military grade blue finish. The original blued finish retained is approximately 90% with edge wear, light handling marks, and holster wear. The grip safety displays two drilled and tapped holes, and there is rust observed along the edge of the grip panels and on the grip screws. The action is smooth and crisp, and the bore is bright with strong rifling. The wood grips are in excellent condition. Pistol includes two magazines total (one magazine has matching serial number), and a black leather military style holster is in near excellent condition.
